History of the "Popular Music Band of Rubiós"

Os comezos da Banda de Música Popular de Rubiós datan do ano 1892. Existía un pequeno coro na parroquia e, vendo as facultades musicais dalgúns dos seus compoñentes, foi o párroco D. Evaristo Senra quen se esforzou por conseguir o nacemento dunha Banda de Música.

O primeiro mestre de entrada foi Manuel de Tomás, con quen a Banda foi crecendo, chegando a actuar por toda a provincia. Así, foise desnvolvendo a historia da Banda baixo a dirección de varios mestres, tales como D. Juan Novoa, veciño de Rubiós, que se iniciara na banda parroquial e mellorara a súa formación musical en bandas militares, compositor da tan coñecida muiñeira “Mozos do Penedo” e outras.

Coa declaración da guerra civil española termina a primeira etapa da Banda, xa que quedou sen a maior parte dos seus compoñentes. Ademais, a emigración tamén contribuíu a que durante varios anos a Banda deixara de existir.

No ano 1958 houbo un intento de refacer a Banda por parte de D. Alfonso Méndez Méndez, gran mestre nativo de Rubiós que dirixira algún tempo as Bandas de Música de Guláns e de Valadares. No 1962 e no 1969 houbo tamén tentativas, pero ningunha conseguiu o seu obxectivo.

No ano 1985, sendo Alcalde do municipio de As Neves D. Oswaldo-Lino González Pereira, acórdase no pleno da Corporación fomentar e axudar ao rexurdir da Banda de Música de Rubiós. Así, pedindo a colaboración veciñal, comezaron a impartirse clases de solfeo, da man de D. Eugenio Fontán, nativo de Rubiós, ás que acudían aqueles que sendo mozos formaran parte de anteriores intentos de recuperar a Banda e tamén un número elevado de mozos e mozas que serían a nova xeración da Banda de Rubiós.

No ano 1987, faise a presentación oficial da Banda de Música Popular de Rubiós no concello de As Neves, baixo a batuta de D. Ramón González “Viceiro”, natural de Marín.

Adrian Viñas Alonso

Graduate in trumpet by the "Higher conservatory of musica of Vigo" with the highest qualifications. Begins his musical career within the "Grouping Musical Lyre San Miguel of Oia" but soon moved their education process to the "Conservatory of Vigo" where in 2010 finished your hand Adolfo Caride and Javier Viceiro obtaining excellent in concert End of Career. He has combined his degree with numerous advanced level lessons with teachers like Mr. Javier Simó or Mr. Luis González Amosa.

He has done advanced courses with masters as:

  • Mr. Luis Gonzalez Martí (Teacher in the Conservtory of Basque Country and World soloist)
  • Mr. Bo Nilsson (Soloist of the Symphony Orchestra of Malmö , in Sweden)
  • Mr. Benjamín Moreno y D. Enrique Rioja (Soloist of the Orchestra R.T.V.E)
  • Mr. Juanjo Serna y Carlos Benetó (Brass quintet Spanish Brass)
  • Mr. Javier Simó (Soloist of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia)
  • Mr. Sergio Novella (Soloist of the orchestra of Extremadura)
  • Mr. Jose María Ortí (Soloist of the "O.N.E", National Orchestra of Spain)
  • Mr. Javier González Lamas ( Professional Conservatory of Vigo )
  • Mr. Jose Rodríguez Ramos ( Professional Conservatory of Santiago )
  • Mr. Roberto Verde (Soloist in the Municipal Band of A Coruña)
  • Mr. Juan Lois (Soloist in the Municipal Band of Santiago de Compostela)
  • Mr. Roberto Bodí (Soloist in the Orchestra of Castilla y León )

In 2008 he joined the School of Advanced Musical Studies in Santiago de Compostela, studying with Mr. Javier Simó addition to performing advanced level lessons with solists as Ivan Varela (Orchestra of O Porto), Juan Antonio Soriano (Oviedo Philharmonic Orchestra), Roberto Bodí (Orchestra of Castilla de y León), and only a year later performed the proves of the Galicia Symphony Youth Orchestra, thus receiving master classes with soloist of the orchestra Mr. John Aigi Hurn.

In 2011 forms part as trumpet soloist of “A Ópera dos Tres Reás”, of Kury Weill and Bertolt Brech, production of "Drama Center Galego", and on tour all around Galicia, also cities as Madrid, Salamanca, Pamplona, Las Palmas, Zaragoza ... obtaining a great success both in gauging and criticism, and being nominated for eight awards Maria Casares.

He was part of the sixth edition of the Awards for Musical Excellence, promoted by the Ministry of Education andUniversity Ordination in collaboration with the Paideia Galiza Foundation, conceived for the diffusion of the highest qualifications throughout the Community.

Currently studies band directing in the European Academy of Band Directing with masters like Javier Viceiro or Jan Coberaddition to performing courses of band directing with Rafael Pascual Villaplana or Marcell Van Bree among others.

In the educational area, works as a professor of trumpet at the School Band Music of Beade and in the Municipal School of Music of Vigo, the same way as professor of trumpet and music theory from the "Grouping Musical Lyre San Miguel of Oia" on which it is also director of the School Band since more than seven years ago. Also directs the Adults Combo of the Municipal School of Music of Vigo in addition to its newly created Big Band.

Currently he combines his role in teaching with trompetística activity with numerous groupings all over Galicia geography, Municipal Band of Santander and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, in addition to being trumpet solist in the Orchestra Casablanca and Orchestra Vigo 430, with which it has made several recordings and has accompanied important soloists of worldwide as Gordan Nikolic , Alexander Coin , David Quiggle , Nicolas Dautricourt , Alexis Cárdenas ...

Since February 2015 takes the direction of the Popular Music Band of Rubiós.
